Round Table Forum / Round Table Talks

The Round Table sees itself as an open forum for discussions and conversations to gain experience and information as well as to exchange ideas about the transformation in so-called structurally weak regions. At the University of Applied Sciences in Zittau/Goerlitz the Round Table was established as a regular and stable form of research cooperation.

The basic target of the Round Table is the development of research, both regarding its content and formal aspects, within a network bridging theory and practically-orientated research projects. All points of view are more than welcome: those of scientists and researchers, of regional and national actors, of economic and political representatives - all are invited to join the debate..

The goal here is a multilayered and interdisciplinary discourse about transformation research, with different perspectives coming from as many persons interested in thesubject as possible.

As in the first two meetings, the major issue here is to let the experience and interests of various regional partners and scientists flow into an even more precise definition of the research project. All our experience shows that this is the right way to go, and is supported by your valuable ide... read more

Round Table no. 1 Current State of Research and Open Discussion
The main questions, content-wise, are: What possibilities and terms or conditions are there or should be created for a development in so-called zones or corridors of (enforced) transformation (transition zones) which would reduce structural weaknesses as well as foster endogenous potential for a development largely independent of... read more
